By car to and from Airport Charles de Gaulle - Paris

Our advice is don't do it !!!.....use another form of transport .....see here[

If you have come to France only to experience 'The City of Lights', that is Paris, then we recommend you avoid the driving adventure entirely. If you’re flying into CDG and your final destination is beyond the city boundaries then a car is a necessity to take advantage of what this wonderful country has to offer. You may however still want to take the train nearer or to your holiday location and pick up a hire-car there for any local site-seeing / travel. If you need convincing not to drive in Paris check out the video opposite. This is at the notorious roundabout at the 'Arc de Triomphe' and the roads are not all like this but after a long-haul flight or for your first time in the city -maybe it is best to avoid driving.

If you you really must drive then you can check out your route into Paris from the airport,                                                              here on the airports website www.aeroportsdeparis.fr
You will have to know where your destination in Paris is located as you have a Choice of autoroute A1, Porte de la Chapelle  or A3, Porte de Bagnolet to take you away from the airport. You set out following the signs to Paris centre and as you get closer to the city  you need to know what direction on the circular ‘peripherique’ you need to take, west or east. If you want to reach the heart of the city then head west and exit at Port Mallot. Check  with your hotel or holiday provider as to which exit on the peripherique to take. We would advise you to try and get into / stay in the the two right-hand lane as this should increase you chances of actually reaching your preferred exit. You can see a video of the drive along the peripherique here........ Also check out our 'Driving in France' page here......
