La Guerche offers a perfect blend of
history, rural
tranquility and access to the natural beauty of
Touraine. Its castle dramatically overlooks the river
Creuse, while its preserved village lanes and heritage
feel offer peaceful charm. Whether you're cycling along
the river or stepping back in time inside
the château, La Guerche
invites a serene yet enriching escape.

We have taken the tour and if you are staying
in the area we would recommend a short stroll around the village
itself followed by a visit to the chateau.

As you walk
the narrow streets of the village you get the feeling that not a lot has changed in the last hundred years
as it still retains its charm.

You will find some interesting half-timbered houses and doors that look as if they have been there forever.

There are some very interesting terraced houses around the village.

The village also has Romanesque church, Saint-Marcellin,
dating from around the 11th century.

Although it's a a small village
it has an active community with events
throughout the year, with annual fetes and
brocante plus entertainment during the summer
months at the village's open air 'Taverne'.
