St.Madaleine church - Vendome

The church of Sainte Madelaine de Vendome was founded in the 15th century by the Count of Vendome with the help of the local people. Other features were added during the 16th century before extensive renovation work carried out during the 19th century.

When you first enter the church it appears dark, in spite of the fact you are surrounded by many beautiful stained glass windows made by the master craftsmen of the region.

The beams of the wooden vaulted ceiling are ornately painted.

There is a pretty side chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary

The bell tower of the church rises to 65 metres
